About Us

Dr. Dejan Stankovic, BCB

With an enthusiastic dedication to sport psychology and biofeedback, I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals and teams to reach their peak performance levels. Through targeted teaching and guidance, I specialize in equipping athletes with the mental tools and techniques necessary to excel in their respective sports. My commitment lies in fostering a culture of excellence, resilience, and well-being, ensuring that every individual and team I work with can unlock their full potential and achieve unparalleled success on and off the field

As the Director of Mental Performance and Wellness at Sportime/John McEnroe Tennis Academy, I spearhead the integration of sports psychology into the fabric of our academy, catering to over 100 coaches and staff members and over 1,000 athletes across four different locations. My role involves the design and implementation of a comprehensive Sports Psychology Program (called John McEnroe Tennis Academy You) aimed at enhancing the performance and well-being of our tennis players, a diverse cohort ranging from ages 8 to 18. I lead a team of high-level coaches, overseeing the infusion of sport psychology techniques into tennis-specific drills, ensuring a holistic approach to player development

Additionally, I provide personalized one-on-one Biofeedback and Sport Psychology training sessions to over 200 professional, college, and junior athletes. I leverage my expertise to assess client needs and devise tailored strategies for overcoming challenges, managing stress, and maximizing performance. I’m deeply committed to guiding and mentoring clients towards developing essential life skills beyond their athletic endeavors, ensuring a holistic approach to personal growth and fulfillment. Concurrently, I conduct research in sports psychology, stress management, and performance optimization, exploring areas such as goal setting, imagery, mindfulness, and breathing techniques. I also specialize in designing and facilitating team cohesiveness and team-building workshops, collaborating with diverse teams and coaches across different sports disciplines.
I am also a mindfulness lecturer and teacher. I’ve had the privilege of designing and delivering mindfulness classes to esteemed institutions such as the Boston University Sport Psychology and Coaching graduate classes, and Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams, fostering a culture of mental well-being and peak performance.
Finally, with over a decade of experience as a former Division I Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Boston University, my role extended beyond the confines of the court. I was actively involved in fundraising, marketing, and promoting men’s tennis and intercollegiate athletics, fostering positive relationships with alumni, donors, and stakeholders. Notably, I initiated and sustained the first-ever coaching endowment within the Athletic Department, securing vital resources for the program’s growth and sustainability. Under my leadership, the team achieved significant milestones, including its first-ever Patriot League Championship, its first-ever NCAA appearance, and consistent recognition for recruiting excellence. I also had the privilege of coaching a player who reached the NCAA top 10 rankings, demonstrating the program’s impact at the highest levels of collegiate tennis.
